One of the highlights of MacDuff’s Pub is their diverse menu, which includes options such as wood-fired carnivore pizza, fresh salmon, shepherd's pie, and more. The dishes are not only flavorful but also generously portioned, ensuring that you leave satisfied.
The pub prides itself on offering a range of local ales and beers, allowing guests to discover new and exciting brews that perfectly complement their meals. The sour ale, in particular, was a standout choice that paired beautifully with the rich flavors of the food.
What sets MacDuff’s Pub apart is its welcoming staff, particularly Tony, who adds an extra layer of charm to the dining experience. The lively atmosphere, combined with attentive service, creates a warm and inviting ambiance that makes you feel right at home.
While most dishes receive rave reviews, there are a few minor improvements that could be made, such as serving the chili in a bread bowl with chips instead to avoid sogginess. Overall, MacDuff’s Pub offers a unique and fun experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Whether you're in the mood for comfort food after a day of snow play or craving a delicious French onion soup, MacDuff’s Pub is the perfect place to satisfy your cravings. With its welcoming environment, tasty dishes, and exceptional service, this pub is a must-visit when in town.
“ Came in here for a comfort food lunch after playing in the snow and running around all morning. We ordered quite a few items and shared due to the portion sizes here. 1) Beet salad - very fresh and tastey (not much goat cheese) 2) Onion rings - light batter and huge portion size. The sauce it came with was a good touch! 3) French onion soup - ordered 2 as it was so good 4) Shepard's pie - was okay but not too much flavor 5) Reuben sandwich - corned beef was good, a little dry, and the bread was ripping apart due to the cheese and being overloaded. Place was great, a bit pricey but will for sure come back whenever I am in town. The beer list was great as I am a huge fan of Russian River. ”
“ Best French onion soup on the planet! My husband had some sort of stew in a bread bowl I believe and it was so good too! Our son ordered the steak and said it was delicious as well. ”
“ MacDuff's Pub is a fantastic spot in a tourist neighborhood, offering a lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and hearty portions that deliver incredible value. Parking was a breeze with their convenient lot, making our visit stress-free from the start. We came in for dinner and were greeted by the warm smiles of the cooking staff right at the entrance, a wonderful first impression. The pub has a charming layout with two floors and a bar located on the second floor, adding a unique touch to the overall experience. It did take about 15 minutes for us to be seated, but once the wait staff acknowledged us, the service was quick and attentive, with food arriving at the table in no time. The menu truly shines with its variety and portion sizes. My absolute favorite dish was the wood-fired carnivore pizza with mushrooms added on top. The pizza was savory yet light, reminiscent of a Neapolitan style and simply perfect. Other standouts included the salmon, which was fresh and well-prepared, and the shepherd's pie, which was hearty and comforting. Their selection of local ales and beers is impressive, and I particularly enjoyed the sour ale, which paired nicely with the rich flavors of the meal. For those who enjoy discovering new brews, this pub does not disappoint. Tony, one of the staff members, was the star of the evening. His upbeat vibe and attention to our table added an extra layer of charm to our visit, my entire group just loved him! One dish I wouldn't recommend, however, is the chili in a bread bowl. Unfortunately, by the time it reached our table, the bread had turned soggy, detracting from the overall enjoyment. The chili itself was flavorful, but it might be better served with chips as a nacho platter instead, just a thought for improvement. Before leaving, we checked out some of the pub's merch near the entrance, a nice touch for visitors who want a keepsake from their visit. All in all, MacDuff's Pub provided a unique and fun experience. With its great food, lively atmosphere, and accommodating staff, it's a spot we'd gladly return to on our next visit. Highly recommended! ”
“ A Yelp review that was everything and then some. Wanted some yummy food and since we're not from here, turned to Yelp. MacDuff's was wonderful! Immediately greeted and sat. Our drink orders were promptly taken and then delivered. I got the cottage pie (a Shepards pie but with ground beef vs Lamb) and it was everything i had hoped for. So well flavored, served piping hot. Hearty in consistency, a large portion. It was so good! My bf got the mushroom/swiss burger with a lamb patty and enjoyed every bite of it as well. Would absolutely recommend this place if you want delicious, hearty, yummy food in a wonderful quaint space. ”
“ The clam chowder was great with a big portion. I just wish the bread would've been separate. Also ordered the wedge salad, chopped and tossed, in the salad it was chopped walnuts, which was mixed perfectly well. This was a great salad. ”
“ Amazing experience and ambiance. The staff were super friendly and helpful I'd recommend the wings with Scottish Thunder. ”
“ It's a long overdue review for MacDuff's Pub! We came here in early April for a ski trip! It's a very cozy restaurant. They do have outdoor dining but it was so cold for that at that time. We ordered an artichoke dip, French onion soup, shepherd's pie, Mac and cheese and clam chowder. The soups were $11 each. A bit pricey but the clam chowder was sooo good so we got another one! All the food was very good. We loved the Shepherd's pie and clam chowder the most! Definitely kept us warm and full! ”
“ MacDuff's Pub is a popular pub with a lot of seating outside and cozy inside dining available. They offer bar seating as well. Obviously, there is a bar. The host was very friendly and you get a welcoming vibe here. They have a parking lot and street parking available. French Onion Soup (4/5). Hearty, beefy, cheesy, and delicious. This was great. Sometimes, other places make their soup too salty. Not here. This was enjoyable. The Real Shepherd's Pie: Fresh ground lamb, carrots, onions, celery, peas, gravy, and a potato crust (4/5). I am not a connoisseur of Shepherd's Pie, but this was savory and creamy. Sample of the Sidellis Rotating Sour Ale: Watermelon and lemon Ale (4/5). Our server was so nice and offered me a sample of this. The ale was light and refreshing tart. All the staff were so nice and friendly! They all work the tables, so there is no specific one assigned to your table. Come check them out! ”
“ This place was recommended from a friend. We were in Lake Tahoe for our anniversary. We wanted to try something new as always when we're on vacay. This place was nice and cozy. Cute and just real cozy. Lol. This place gets busy so be prepared to wait or you can rsvp a head of time. Once we arrived, there was a little wait to be seated but it was ok. We were defrosting from the cold weather. Lol. We ordered chicken pot pie, corned beef & cabbage and the truffle mac and cheese. My husband enjoyed his corned beef and I had the chicken pot pie. We both shared the truffle mac and cheese. Everything was delicious! I killed my chicken pot pie and I loved the puff pastry they added on top. The flakey bread just dipped into the pot pie was sooo good. I didn't try the corned beef cuz thats not my vibe but my husband liked it but he liked the truffle mac and cheese more lol. The staff were friendly and the food came out pretty quick seeing how busy it was. We definitely would check them out again when we go back! ”
